Spain National Day @ Marriott Hotel
Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary for European Affairs Maria Cleofe Natividad, Spanish Ambassador Luis Antonio Calvo Castaño, and Timor Leste Ambassador Juvencio de Jesus Martins toast to continued strong relations between Spain and the Philippines.
MANILA, Philippines — The National Day of Spain was held last Oct. 12 at the Manila Ballroom of Marriott Manila Hotel. Hosted by Ambassador Luis Calvo and wife Madam Maria Jose Carrasco, the event was attended by a full house of more than 600 guests from the diplomatic corps, government, business, the academe, civil society and other sectors.
Guests enjoyed the many Spanish and Filipino dishes prepared by the award-winning staff of the Marriott Manila, including a giant paella. There was also a bountiful table of Spanish ham, sliced on site by an expert “cortador”, as well as cheeses and cold cuts. Spanish wines were served and the sponsor for that evening, Emperador, also supplied the open bar with their many fine products including Fundador. Photos by JOEY VIDUYA
