Gallery News: Joey Yupangco at Galleria Duemila

The Philippine Star

Joey Yupangco showcases spherical works that represent abstract cities devoid of hierarchies in “ArtDtecture,” which opens on Sept. 13 at Galleria Duemila, 210 Loring St., Pasay City. The show runs until Sept. 30.

The spheres are created from foam board, with a cutting knife that Yupangco used to create layers of pieces that look simultaneously orderly and chaotic. Yupangco and young architects Trix Liwanag and Mikee Silva then extrude graphic-like illustrations from the spheres for visual impact.
