Romeo Marantal - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — A retired government employee sought the help of the Cebu City Police Office, claiming she lost her bank savings amounting to P700,000 to the budol-budol gang.

CCPO Director Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, after he interviewed the 68-year-old victim, ordered an investigation into the incident.

Dalogdog also ordered the Detective Management Unit of the CCPO to look at the footages of the CCTV cameras in Barangay Bulacao where the incident happened.

It was also learned that there was another victim of the budol-budol gang. The victim, a 23-year-old woman, was walking at Fuente Osmeña to deposit the proceeds from their restaurant when she met two old women.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Gerard Ace Pelare, spokesperson of Police Regional Office-7, said that the incident is now being investigated. —/LPM (FREEMAN)
