CEBU, Philippines — A P1.2 billion worth of “world-class” level 2 private hospital in Barangay Basak, Cebu City will finally open its doors to the Cebuano community and its neighboring provinces on December 26, 2020.

Dr. Wyben Briones, medical director and one of the founders of Allied Care Experts (ACE) Medical Center-Cebu, said the 175-bed capacity hospital, which can be expanded up to 300-bed capacity, will contribute to the medical landscape of Cebu as a specialty hospital.

“We are bringing accessible and affordable and best medical care. That is what we are promising to our clients,” said Briones during the launching ceremony and soft opening yesterday.

The 8,000-square-meter hospital has 12 floors. The first three floors, which are located underground, are parking spaces that can accommodate 350 vehicles.

The eight floors are devoted for 102 clinics, hospital rooms, and administration office.

The hospital is also equipped with a helipad.

“Because we will be a referral hospital from other ACE hospitals,” said Briones.

The ACE hospital in Cebu is the 19th branch in the country.

Dr. Julio Gonzalez, the hospital administrator, said the new hospital also takes pride of its 460 competent doctors and over a hundred nurses.

Dr. Mc Arthur Conrado Salonga Jr., the hospital president, said the hospital will cater to all

kinds of patients, including COVID-19 patients.

Salonga said 20 percent of the hospital’s bed capacity will be dedicated for coronavirus patients.

“ACE-Medical Center Cebu accepts all kinds of patients. We have the capability, the competence and the affordability. All our rooms are ready,” he said.

The launching ceremony was graced by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Vice Mayor Michael Rama, and Archbishop Jose Palma.

Roque said he was delighted to see another quality medical facility.

ACE Medical Center-Cebu was constructed in 2016 and was founded by 60 doctors both in Cebu and Manila.

Currently, it has 1,800 shareholders—460 of them are medical doctors while the rest are other professionals. —KQD (FREEMAN)
