Offers free training program

CEBU, Philippines — Recognizing the potential of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), a private entity has partnered with different sectors in order to provide free training for those interested in working in BPO companies.

The Call Center Academy (CCA) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Friday, March 3, 2023 with the local government of Danao City, as well as with the Cebu Technological University-Danao City, Colegio de San Antonio de Padua, and Ramon Nito Durano Family Foundation Inc., (RNDFFI) to offer free training programs to residents of Danao City that are eyeing call center opportunities.

The IT/BPM Courses Scholarship Program of CCA is a free training program for aspiring IT BPO workers to create opportunities for the constituents of Danao City who do not have the resources and access to institutional support.

Under the MOA, the CCA will be providing scholarship slots for Danao City residents and constituents of its partner organizations and will be responsible in pre-screening the candidates who can join the training.

The CCA will be providing intensive training programs under the TESDA-Training for Work Scholarship Program/Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program that includes mock interviews and phone simulations conducted by qualified trainers.

There are 300 TESDA scholarship slots for Contact Center Services NCII, 25 for Medical Transcription NCII, 100 for Events Management Services NCIII, 100 for Creative Web Design, and more.

On the other hand, the Danao City government will be responsible in organizing job fairs and inviting IT BPO companies to join, plus other necessary support needed by the scholars and CCA.

Colegio de San Antonio de Padua and CTU Danao City will be providing the training venues for orientations and for face-to-face meetings, as well as functional computer sets with strong internet connection.

RNDFFI, a non-profit, non-government organization, will be providing post activity support to the graduates, as well as support to CCA and the LGU in promoting the scholarship program and in the screening process of the candidates.

“We’re excited about this partnership with CCA and with our other counterparts for this project since this supports our promise to help residents of Danao City find more work opportunities. This is just a start, and we hope that this will also attract BPO investors who are eyeing to expand their operations outside Metro Cebu to look into Danao City,” said Danao City Mayor Mix Durano.

Durano signed the MOA in behalf of the city, while other signatories were: Call Center Academy OIC Merredith Supremo; Danao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Ireneo Mildred Tangalin; Decem Suladay, CTU Danao representative; Ramon Red Durano VI- OIC of the Danao City Investment and Promotions Center; Atty. Joseph Felix Mari Ace Durano- President, RNDFFI,  and Dr. Alberto Jumao-as Jr. - CSAP Chancellor.

The program is also in line with the city’s aim to be the next IT Hub in Cebu.

In a recent report, BPO stakeholders in the Philippines have expressed their optimism and confidence in being able to generate at least a million jobs more by 2028.
