Clarkson encourages Fil-Am hoops prodigy to pursue NBA dream
MANILA, Philippines — Fil-Am teen hooper Braylon J. Williams got a huge boost of motivation to pursue his basketball dream of playing in the NBA with words of encouragement from none other than Jordan Clarkson.
Williams, more known as BJ, received mail from Clarkson himself along with a signed photo of himself.
“To: BJ, always do your best and the results will take care of itself. Best wishes,” Clarkson scrawled on the photo along with his signature.
BJ, 11, is based in Tennessee and hopes to follow in Clarkson’s footsteps as a Filipino-American in the NBA.
“If I do make it to the NBA, I would know that I wasn’t the only Filipino-American to make it,” BJ had told SLAM Philippines.
“And if I do make it, I hope that other Filipino-Americans look up to me the way I look up to Jordan Clarkson and Jalen Green,” he added.
Clarkson’s package for the Fil-Am teen included his own merchandise. BJ sported a Clarkson cap, shirt, and a water bottle.
BJ took to social media to thank the Jazz guard for his package.
“I don't get mail often but when I do, it's usually great. This was more than great! Thank you thank you to [Jordan Clarkson] for taking the time and effort to send me this amazing care package. Yes, see you at the TOP!,” BJ wrote.
