Tiu, Racela take reins at Benilde, Adamson

MANILA, Philippines — College of St. Benilde and Adamson have tapped new coaches in preparation for the imminent return of collegiate basketball in the country.

The Blazers have appointed Charles Tiu to succeed TY Tang for the 97th NCAA season with a target opening in January.

Tiu’s appointment came a day after Nash Racela, a former Blackwater coach, took over the rein at Adamson where he succeeded Franz Pumaren. The UAAP is eyeing a February kickoff.

Tiu recently backed out from coaching the Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards in the Chooks-to-Go MPBL to focus on the Meralco Bolts in the PBA where he is part of the coaching staff.
