Ardina six shots off pace

MANILA, Philippines — Dottie Ardina blew a two-under front nine and finished with a one-over 72 for joint 59th at the start of LPGA Tour’s Pure Silk Championship paced by Chinese Taipei’s Wei-Ling Hsu at five-under 66 in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Bianca Pagdanganan fired a two-over 73 and another Filipina Clariss Guce shot a 75.

Over in Japan, bad weather forced the scrapping of the first round of the Chukyo TV Bridgestone Open where Yuka Saso could finally hit the Y100-million mark in earnings. The tourney is reduced to 36 holes.
