Critical NCAA card up today
MANILA, Philippines — San Beda seeks the first of last two games to complete a sweep while San Sebastian, St. Benilde and Mapua fight for their Final Four hopes in a critical double-header today in the 95th NCAA basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.
The Lions will be out to stretch their unbeaten run to 17 as they face off with the Blazers (7-8) at 2 p.m. preceding the 4 p.m. setto between the Stags (9-6) and the Cardinals (7-8).
Again, San Beda coach Boyet Fernandez doesn’t want to talk about a potential sweep just yet because they haven’t faced their finals foe the last two years – the Lyceum of the Philippines U Pirates.
“Tomorrow’s (today) game will be crucial because we need a win that will give us a positive outlook going into our game versus LPU next Thursday,” said Fernandez.
“I’m also quite worried facing CSB because they just got their win last Tuesday so I’m sure their confidence is sky high,” he added.
