MANILA, Philippines — Reigning champion Petron begins its quest for a historic three-peat when it tests the mettle of expansion team Marinerang Pilipina in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference today at the Imus Sports Complex in Cavite.

Winners of the past two all-Pinoy tourneys, the Blaze Spikers are fancied to kick off their campaign on a winning note against the neophyte Lady Skippers in the 4:15 p.m. match.

Already with a formidable core in Ces Molina, Mika Reyes, Bernadeth Pons, Aiza Manzo-Pontillas and Rhea Dimaculangan, Petron has even become tougher with the addition of UAAP Most Valuable Player Sisi Rondina from UST.

“We have to take care of the dynasty that we worked hard for,” said head coach Shaq delos Santos, ahead of their conference debut versus the Lady Skippers who have dropped their first two games against Sta. Lucia and Generika-Ayala.

Meanwhile, Foton and Generika-Ayala both aim for second win in their 7 p.m. match.

The Tornadoes are coming off a four-set win over Sta. Lucia earlier this week with Elaine Kasilag leading the attack with 20 points.
