Foreigners score in World Slasher Cup derby semis
MANILA, Philippines — Americans Belle Almojera of Florida and Michael Mushburn of California banner the top picks in Day 2 semifinals of 2019 World Slasher Cup 9-Cock Invitational Derby today at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Almojera, runner-up in last year’s WSC 1 with 7.5 points, posted two remarkable victories while Mushburn and his Filipino partner William Mamba tallied two hard-earned wins in the elims.
Aside from 78 quality fights, aficionados get a chance to win a 32” LED TV in the raffle draw courtesy of Powertrac.
Also with two points: are defending champion Patrick Antonio, Marvin Rillo and 2018 WSC 2 champ Rey Briones (two entries each), Eman Fiscalizer, Ben Mondragon/Lester Edoc, Team Alcala, Jimmy Junsay, Mark Calixto, CPB group and Dicky Lim.
“The target in the semifinals is to register that elusive 5-0 slate and hopefully a perfect nine points in the grand finals on Feb. 6,” said Pitgames CEO Manny Berbano, host and producer of sabong program ‘Tukaan’ on TV 5 (Sundays, 8 a.m. to 9 a.m), supported by the host, Pintakasi of Champions.
