Senate, AFP dispute Group A top seed in UNTV

MANILA, Philippines — The top seeds in both Groups A and B of the seventh UNTV Cup will be determined today at the close of the first round elims of the country’s public servants-only tournament at the JCSGO gym in Cubao.

Disputing Group A’s No.1 seed are defending champion Senate and Armed Forces of the Philippines with the latter going for a 5-0 record in their 5 p.m. showdown.

Three teams – National Housing Authority, Malacañang-Philippine Sports Commission and Department of Agriculture – are still in the running for Group B topnotcher but one will slide down to No. 3 at the end of the day.

That’s because the Malacañang-PSC Kamao of Bong Go and Sec. Manny Piñol’s Food Masters clash at 3:30 p.m. with both teams having good chances of securing the top spot.
