MANILA, Philippines — “The Living Legend” Robert Jaworski bore witness to Barangay Ginebra’s massive 132-94 loss to San Miguel in Game Three of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals on Wednesday night.

The iconic cager said that the crowd darlings came up short on the game’s fundamentals.

“All the basics of basketball. They’re not picking up, they’re not boxing out, rebounding. You know, they [were] not even talking to each other while the other team [was] having a heyday. They’re too uptight and I don’t know why,” he said.

“We’re fighting San Miguel which is a complete team. You cannot rest a second,” he continued. “[The Beermen are] taking  easy three-pointers and easy second shots. They have to go back to the drawing board and make that specific focus on what they have to do,” added Jaworski.

It is worth nothing that for all of Jaworski’s allegiance, the PBA great still managed to poke fun at the Gin Kings’ circumstance.

“They started the championship tournament with a blowout,” he said in jest.

But he was quick to say that he was feeling for the club.

“You feel bad. You want to say ‘hey come on’. That’s exactly I watch the game. It started good but it turned out to be another (blowout),” he noted.

Jaworski went on to hint that maybe his “intervention” won’t do wonders this time around.

“They get to talk themselves. There’s a saying, ‘You can bring the horse to the river but you cannot force them to drink water,’” he said.

“They’re playing against a very talented group. You cannot a slip a second,” Jaworski closed.
