Eustaquio claims ONE flyweight crown in Macau
MANILA, Philippines — Interim champion Geje Eustaquio of Baguio’s Team Lakay won by split decision over Adriano Moraes to formally claim the ONE flyweight crown Saturday night in Macau.
Eustaquio, who won the interim champiomship as a last-minute replacement last January, surprised the Brazilian with takedowns and improved takedown defense, although he got locked in a couPle of submission moves, including a reverse naked choke in the second round.
In the co-main event, Xiong Jing Nan beat Laura Balin to retain her strawweight title. Petchmorrakot Wor Sangprapai defeated Fabrice “The Funky Drummer” Fairtex Delannon via TKO doctor stoppage in a Muay Thai fight, while Ev Ting outpointed Koji Ando via unanimous decision.
In two kickboxing matches, Tarik Khbabez knocked out Alain Ngalani, while Lerdsila Phuket beat Sok Thy via split decision.
Yukinori Ogasawara knocked out Rui Botelho with spinning back elbow. And earlier, Cambodian Rin Sarot beat Mario Wirawan of Indonesia.
