Japan's 3x3 star Tatsuhiro Noro is half-Filipino
BOCAUE, Bulacan – Biboy Enguio isn’t the only foreign player with Philippine roots in the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup.
There’s also Japanese player Tatsuhito Noro, whose mother, Alma Miwa, is Filipina.
Miwa was present during the Japan-Indonesia match, which the former won 18-11. Miwa, who calls Pampanga home, was brought to the Philippine Arena by her Fil-Japanese nephews Kazuki Tanaka and Inoue Kazuo — also known as the comedy duo HPN3.
It was the first time the two met up on Philippine soil since Miwa moved back to her home country.
The 6’2” Noro is a three-time No. 1 3x3 player in Japan and who also plays five-on-five basketball for RBC Tokyo.
In Japan’s 18-11 win over Indonesia in Day Three of the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup, Noro scored three points. He led his team with four points in a 17-11 loss to Estonia during the opening day and had a point in a 22-14 loss to Slovenia.
