MANILA, Philippines – The country in front of his jersey says “Indonesia,” but for 30-year-old Ebrahim “Biboy” Enguio, he’s “still the number one fan of Gilas.”

The six-foot-flat Enguio is suiting up for Indonesia in the 2018 FIBA 3x3 World Cup. To local basketball fans, Biboy Enguio is known for playing for the University of the East from 2009-11 under head coach Lawrence Chongson.

“Pagkatapos ng UAAP, naglaro na ako sa Indonesia,” related Enguio, who suited up for Aspac Jakarta. He is currently playing for CLS Knights Indonesia in the Asean Basketball League.

Biboy is half-Filipino, half-Indonesian and grew up in Alabang. His mother is Julieta Gavino Lopez while his father is Salem Lukman Enguio.

Biboy has suited up for Indonesia and the 2015 and 2017 Southeast Asian Games.

Enguio admitted that he was a late addition to Indonesia’s 3x3 squad. He was only called up a few days ago.

Iba rin,” he continued.

Indonesia lost to Estonia, 22-10, in their first match of the Fiba 3x3 World Cup with Enguio accounting for two his team’s points.
