Red Booters blast Generals, tie Blazers

MANILA, Philippines – San Beda overpowered Emilio Aguinaldo, 10-0, to join St. Benilde in second in the 92nd NCAA seniors football tournament at the Rizal Memorial football field yesterday.

Ralph Abriol came through with a hattrick early, connecting on the second, fifth and 17th minute to set the tone for the rout for the Red Booters, who hiked their total to nine points.

Aljo Zabala and Nimrod Balabat scored a double each while Mark Den Castillo and Elnie Dorimon accounted for San Beda’s other goals in the lopsided triumph.

San Beda is the league’s most title squad with 37, including 21 in the seniors’ division while the rest are in juniors play.
