Bert Lozada Swim School opens summer clinics

MANILA, Philippines – The Bert Lozada Swim School (BLSS) launches its 2009 Camp Aqua summer swimming program in 46 venues all over Metro Manila all the way to the Visayas, on March 23.

BLSS is the country’s only swimming institution, which provides personalized instructions to infants, kids, and all the way to adults, complemented with competitive programs where students apply what they have learned.

“ My dream ever since I learned to swim is to see a swim-loving Filipino population and for swimming to become the preferred sport and past time across all ages in the Philippines, “ said BLSS founder and president Bert Lozada, whose school has already made over a million Filipinos feel safer in the water over the years.

This year, BLSS highlights the safety side for swimmers in the school’s two-week long programs.

“We have included a separate module just on safety and we will also come up with scientific codes to be taught to our students,” said BLSS north area manager Angelo Lozada.

BLSS is an active member of the US Swim School Association while some of the coaches have been certified by the Australian Council for the Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety.

The school offers separate programs forinfants from six months to three years old, for children and teens, and even for adults, ranging from basic courses to advance courses. It also holds competitive events within the years, such as the Beach Hut First Plunge, Take Your Mark Novice meet, Speedo Jumpstart, an all girls’ swim fiesta, and the first Speedo Corporate Cup.

Aside from Metro Manila venues, BLSS also has programs in Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, and in Bacolod, according to south area manager Anthony Lozada.

The various programs are slated March 23-April 2, April 13-23, April 24-May 6, May 7-18, and May 19-29.
