Eddie Garcia bill, aprubado na sa congress
Aprubado na sa House Committee Level ang Eddie Garcia Bill.
Ito ang update ni FDCP (Film Development Council of the Philippines) Chairperson Liza Diño tungkol sa pinu-push nilang bill na po-protekta sa mga trabahador ng showbiz.
“This bill seeks to institute policies for the protection and promotion of the welfare of workers or independent contractors in the film, television, and radio entertainment industry.
“Ang bill na ito ay hindi lamang para sa mga artista.
“Ang mga ekstra, technical crew, production staff--- mga no-work no-pay---ay kasama at binibigyang prayoridad na mabigyan ng proteksyon nang batas na ito. Kaya sana suportahan nati dahil para sa atin ito...para sa manggagawa ng pelikulang Pilipino!
“Thank you to our honorable legislators led by the HOR committee on labor and employment Cong. Enrico Pineda, Subcommittee Chairs - Cong. Toff de Venecia and Cong. Cong. Raymond Democrito Cañete Mendoza. To Cong Michael L. Romero and other co-authors of the bill who are championing the safety and welfare of our workers.
“Napakagandang regalo para sa industriya ng pelikulang Pilipino. After 100 years, may batas na para kumalinga sa karapatan ng mga manggagawa.
“Konti na laaang. ‘Wag bibitaw. Let’s keep this conversation going until this bill becomes a LAW!”
Pero paano kaya ‘yun, pandemic pa at limitado rin ang trabaho, sarado pa ang ABS-CBN, baka nga matatagalan pa bago talaga mapakinabangan ang nasabing law pag naaprubahan sa Senate at pirmahan ni Pres. Duterte.
