Cignal men’s team naibawi ang women’s squad
MANILA, Philippines — Matagumpay na pinawi ng Cignal HD Spikers men’s team ang kabiguan ng kanilang women’s squad sa katatapos na Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Champions League.
Winalis ng HD Spikers ang lahat ng kanilang limang laro kasama ang 27-25, 31-33, 25-16, 25-18 panalo kontra sa Iloilo D’Navigators sa finals para pagharian ang men’s division noong Sabado sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
Ito ang ikalawang korona ng Cignal sa PNVF.
“It’s very fulfilling, last year we lost, we revamped with young enthusiastic and eager players who want to be champions,” sabi ni Cignal HD coach Dexter Clamor.
Nauna nang minalas ang HD Spikers sa women’s category matapos yumukod sa nagreynang Petro Gazz Angels sa finals ng torneong inorganisa ni PNVF president Ramon “Tats” Suzara.
Hinirang si national men’s team spiker Joshua Umandal ng Cignal bilang Most Valuable Player at First Best Outside Hitter kasama sina teammates JP Bugaoan (Second Best Middle Blocker) at Gabriel EJ Casana (Best Setter).
Ang iba pang ginawaran ng tropeo ay sina Jayvee Sumagaysay (First Middle Blocker) at John Benedict San Andres (Second Best Outside Hitter) ng Iloilo, Kevin Montemayor (Best Opposite Spiker) ng VNS Asereht at Alvin Bryle Gomez (Best Libero) ng College of Saint Benilde.
Ang Griffins ay binigyan ng Fair Play Award.
