MTRCB sinuspindi 2 SMNI shows dahil sa death threats, 'unverified reports'
MANILA, Philippines — Suspendido nang 14 na araw ang dalawang programa ng Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) matapos mag-ere ng pagbabanta sa buhay, pagmumura at "hindi beripikadong ulat."
Ito ang ibinahagi ng Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTCRB) patungkol sa media network ng FBI wanted na si Apollo Quiboloy patungkol sa programang "Laban Kasama ang Bayan" at "Gikan Sa Masa, Para Sa Masa."
Ayon sa ulat ng ONE News ngayong Martes, magsisimula ang 14-araw suspensyon ng dalawang palatuntunan simula ika-18 ng Disyembre.
Matatandaang humaharap si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, na host ng "Gikan Sa Masa, Para Sa Masa," sa reklamong krimal na grave threats matapos diumano pagbantaan ang buhay ni ACT Teachers Rep. France Castro gamit ang naturang programa.
Sinabi ni Digong ang kontrobersyal na pahayag kaugnay ng pagpuna ni Castro sa confidential funds ni Bise Presidente Sara Duterte — anak ng dating presidente. Una nang lumabas na naubos ng Office of the Vice President ang P125 milyong pondo sa loob ng 11 araw, ayon sa Commission on Audit.
Inirereklamo rin sa ngayon ang SMNI matapos ilabas sa kanilang programa na "umabot sa P1.8 bilyon" ang travel expenses ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez. Aminado ang host ng "Laban Kasama ang Bayan" na si Jeffrey Celiz na nanggaling lang ang impormasyon sa isang source mula Senado.
"Upon careful review and consideration of recent events and complaints recieved by the Board, it has come to the Board's attention that certain aspects of the program may be in violation of established guidelines and standards set by Presidential Decree No. 1986 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations governing broadcasting content," ayon sa kopya ng kautusang kumakalat online.
"To prevent the possible repetition of these alleged infractions which may pose negative impact on public welfare, ethical considerations, and the overall reputation of the broadcasting industry, this Board determines the need to preventively suspend the subject program by virtue of Section 3, Chapter XIII of the Implementing Rules and Regulations."
Maliban dito, kilala si Celiz at kapwa niya host na si dating National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) spokesperson Lorraine Badoy sa pag-red-tag ng mga ligal na aktibista, dahilan para mapagsabihan sila ng Office of the Ombudsman nitong Setyembre.
Ang preventive suspension ay ipinapataw sa mga programang inirereklamo upang mapigilan silang gumawa pa ng karagdagang paglabag habang hindi pa nakapagdedesisyon sa pagdinig.
Si Quiboloy, na nangunguna sa SMNI, ay pinaghahanap ng U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, matapos sampahan ng patong-patong na reklamo gaya ng sex trafficking ng mga menor de edad. — may mga ulat mula sa ONE News
