Rebate sa Maynilad customers, inutos ng MWSS

MANILA, Philippines — Inatasan ng Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) ang Maynilad Water Services Inc. na mag-rebate o refund sa mga customers nito sa Las Piñas City na hindi nasuplayan ng 24/7 ng tubig nitong mga nagdaang araw.

Ang hakbang ay financial penalties ng MWSS sa Maynilad dahil sa umano’y kabiguan ng kumpanya na tupdin ang round the clock service sa mga customer nito na batay sa nakasaad sa concession agreement nito sa ahensiya.

Ayon kay MWSS Chief Regulator Patrick Ty, nagdesisyon ang MWSS Board of Trustees na atasan ang Maynilad na mag-refund ng halagang P2,500 per water service connection sa Las Piñas City na matinding naapektuhan ng pagkawala ng suplay ng tubig sa loob ng isang araw sa isang linggo.

“We will coordinate with our regulators to determine the rationale behind their decision and how they arrived at their computations. We will set our next course of action based on this discussion,” pahayag ni Maynilad Corporate Communications head at spokesperson Jennifer Casipit-Rufo.

Ayon sa MWSS, ang rebate ay ipatutupad sa susunod na water bills.

Sa ngayon, nagpapatupad ng rotational water service interruption ang dalawang water concessionaries na Maynilad at Manila Water dahil sa epekto ng patuloy na pagbaba ng tubig sa Angat dam na nagsusuplay ng 90 percent ng tubig sa Metro Manila.
