7 gold sinuntok ng MisOr boxers

TAGBILARAN, Bohol, Philippines - Inangkin ng Misamis Orien­tal ang pito sa ka­nilang 12 gold medal fights para hirangin bilang best team sa pagtatapos ng 2012 PLDT-ABAP National Amateur Boxing Cham­pionship sa Cogo gym dito.

Humakot ng kabuuang 7 gold, 5 silver at 8 bronze medals ang koponan ni MisOr Gov. Oscar Moreno na tinampukan ng panalo ni Juniel Lacar kay General Santos City bet Ronnie Tanallon, 30-17, sa 49-kg elite light flyweight class.

Kinilala si Lacar bilang Best Boxer sa kanyang weight division.

 Bukod kay Lacar, ang iba pang pinarangalan ay sina Tagbilaran pride Jessel Mark Araula sa youth class, GenSan bet Jade Bornea (juniors) at si Tayabas entry Jennie Miranda (women’s).

Tinalo ni Araula si Rimar Metuda, 19-14, ng MisOr sa 56kg boys bantamweight final, habang ginapi ni Bornea, kandidato para sa national training pool, si Davao del Norte native Charnie Jun Magsayo, 21-10, sa 50kg junior boys flyweight class at binigo ni Miranda si Maasin boxer Ruby Nicanor, 26-14, sa 48kg junior girls light flyweight category.

 Tumapos naman ang Tayabas, Quezon at Davao del Norte bilang ikalawa at ikatlo sa medal standings mula sa magkatulad nilang 3 gold at 3 silver medals. Ngunit may 7 bronzes ang Tayabas kumpara sa 2 bronze ng Davao.

 Humugot naman ang GenSan ng dalawang gold medals mula sa Bornea twins na sina Jade at Jake at tumapos na may 3 gold, 2 silvers at 8 bronzes para sa fourth place.
