Reverso turns 80

The Gallery of Greenbelt 5 was the venue for the Jaeger-LeCoultre’s “Reverso 80th Anniversary Exhibition.”

Jaeger-LeCoultre’s managing director for North Asia Julien Renard, together with his team that included Gary Ng, Michelle Yick and Shirley Chan, flew to Manila for the event.

The event was attended by watch enthusiasts and connoisseurs. The exhibition displayed the legendary Reverso masterpieces and antique pieces.

In 1931, the Reverso watch was created in response to English polo players’ desire for an unbreakable watch. The watch had a dial that could protect itself from shocks, all the while offering a personalized engraved case-back. This will always be one of my dream watches.

Triple treat

I must say that Dell’s formidable trio of newly-launched products is quite impressive.

The first is the XPS 15z laptop, one of the thinnest personal computers in the market. The second is the Inspiron One 2320, the ultimate “stay-connected” all-in-one desktop. The third is the Dell XPS 8300, another personal computer that provides premium performance for even the most demanding multimedia and entertainment needs.

The event was attended by Dell’s country manager for consumer Chris Papa, joined by product manager Alvin Go and consumer marketing manager Charlz Adano. Also in attendance were Dell distributor LAMCO, headed by Allan Sio and Pinky Sy.

Nasdaq-listed Dell Inc. listens to customers and delivers innovative technology and services that give them “the power to do more.”

OOPS... I wrote in my Jan. 17 column that Nuvo was supposed to close at the end of the month. Apparently, it will last a bit longer! That’s good news for me and the Nuvo regulars! It will eventually close for renovation but, thank God, not at the end of the month as reported earlier!

More nights to enjoy Nuvo’s great food and more nights to party! See you there!
