Lapid’s son gets DPWH post
MANILA, Philippines — Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Giovanni Lopez has appointed Maynard Lapid, a councilor of Porac town in Pampanga and son of Sen. Lito Lapid, as DPWH assistant secretary.
In an order issued on Friday, Lopez designated Lapid as DPWH assistant secretary for special concerns and the Bureau of Equipment.
Lapid will assist DPWH Undersecretary Charles Calima, who heads the special concerns office and the equipment bureau.
His appointment follows administrative alignments executed by Lopez upon assuming as DPWH chief, following the Cabinet-level post swap with former public works chief Vince Dizon last week.
Earlier, Lopez named DPWH-National Capital Region chief Joel Limpengco as OIC-undersecretary for regional operations in Luzon, Sherwin Galleros as DPWH-NCR director and Alwin Pido as DPWH-NCR assistant director.
