Unlike her employer, the maid isn't gullible

WAKE. A household in Cebu City has allowed its housemaid to be present at the wake of her father, which is being held in the neighborhood, but won't allow her into the house until after the burial.

MAID. The maid went to the house to plead her case -I have very young children to feed, ma'm  - but the owner of the house was adamant. 

SLIPPERS. The householder's obstinacy, according to the maid, was due to her being superstitious. According to the maid, her employer thinks bad spirits cling to her slippers while her father remains unburied.
