Pres. Aquino: A dismal failure in all fronts

How time flies indeed and suddenly it's been one year since that historic event in our history occurred - the impeachment of former Chief Justice Renato Corona by senator-judges. Of course, everyone will say their piece about this historic event, in hindsight of course. But in the end, the bottom line is crystal clear, our politicians in the Senate impeached a man due to erroneous reporting in his Statement of Assets and Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs), which we all know could have been corrected.

If any, I would like to see someone come up with a report whereby these senator-judges corrected their respective SALNs after they have impeached the Chief Justice. But the main reason why CJ Corona was forcibly removed from office is very clear to many people. It was Pres. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino, III's way to exact revenge for the Aquino family on the Supreme Court (SC) decision to hand over the Hacienda Luisita to the real people who owned this 6,000 hectare piece of agricultural land, the farmers. History will certainly judge whether CJ Corona was truly guilty or not. But it can only happen after Pres. Aquino exits from Malacañang Palace, and then we will know the true score of this historic event.

School will be opening next week and it is sad to note that as reported in the Philippine Star a few days ago, some 4.5 million school children would not be accommodated if and when they enroll in their respective schools simply because of the lack of school facilities like a classroom. I recall that during the President's first State of the Nation Address (SONA), he vowed that this perennial problem that always crops up during the opening of school will finally disappear because under daan natuwid, there will be more than enough classrooms for everyone.

Well that's another failed political promise given by Pres. PNoy Aquino. I just hope that when he makes his next SONA by July, he would refrain from making promises that he can't keep. Whether he likes it or not, this is one problem that he once blamed on his predecessor, but now he has no one else to blame but himself. In truth, solving this annual problem of lack of classrooms and the like is a simple matter of assigning funds for this specific purpose. This would have been very easy for PNoy to do, after all, he has the legislature already firmly inside his pocket. How do we know this? The fact that he was able to have CJ Corona impeached is enough reason.

What in effect the Aquino Regime has done is to doom some 4.5 million kids into a life of poverty. We all know that education is the key to bring down the gap between the rich and poor. But even that, PNoy could not deliver on his promise. We were in Hong Kong last Sunday and we crossed from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island and saw the thousands upon thousands of Filipino domestic workers sitting along the sidewalks, literally occupying a huge portion of the Central District in Hong Kong.

While in Hong Kong, we saw many Filipino politicians taking a break from the elections. How I wish that these politicians would have gone to these domestic workers last Sunday to see for themselves the plight of our Filipino workers in a foreign country. I took pity on these people, but what can I do but write what I saw. Sadly no one from the Aquino Regime cares for these people, which is why they are forced to find jobs abroad because there are none available here at home. No doubt the Aquino Regime has failed the Filipino people in more ways than one.

On the insurgency front, the Aquino Regime has become a dismal failure with so many attacks by the New People's Army (NPA), it makes our Philippine National Police (PNP) or the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) look inutile. Seven Marines were killed during an encounter with the Abu Sayyaf, then the other day, eight PNP officers were killed by a land mine planted by the NPAs in Nueva Vizcaya. These policemen were on their way to a medical mission when they met their untimely deaths.

But have you heard people like Political Adviser Ronaldo Llamas or Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Teresita Deles, or those senatoriables Risa Hontiveros or Teddy Casiño condemn this NPA attack? Nada! What we read instead was a justification by no less than National Democratic Front (NDF) Chair Fr. Luis Jaladoni that the use of land mines was approved by the Geneva Convention.

At this point, I would like to know why can't the Department of Justice (DoJ) order the extradition of Fr. Luis Jalandoni or CCP Head Jose Maria “Joma” Sison from their hideout in the Netherlands? Again, in the insurgency front, Pres. Aquino is a dismal failure!
