US missionary couple tape-records native daygon songs

- The Ear -

TRADITIONAL "DAYGON". A family (father, mother, and two daughters) from a mountain village in a southern Cebu town received a nifty cash gift from an American missionary couple for singing at least four traditional daygon songs which the couple tape recorded. "Ang pamilya mikanta sa daygon songs unrehearsed kun way preparasyon," an Ear informer said.

REAL FLAVOR. The singing of the daygon songs was intentionally done sans rehearsal to get what the missionaries called "real flavor of the songs." The tape recorded "daygon" will be preserved in the archive of religious songs/music in the US.
