Taking fitness to smart(watch) level

Fitbit’s Louis Lye, Digits Trading’s Howard Paw and fitness trainer Arnold Aninion.

Fitbit, a leading brand that makes wearable technology devices, launched the highly anticipated addition to its line of products — the Fitbit Ionic.

Fitbit Ionic, the company’s first ever smartwatch, is a motivating timepiece packed with fitness guidance, smart features, music storage, apps and more. This is the smartwatch I currently use. What I love most about this chic product is its enhanced PurePulse heart rate tracker, which basically gives you an overview of your overall health. It also has built-in GPS and long battery life (up to five days), which is perfect for travel bugs like me. It can store up to 300 songs, so you can leave your phone at home when you go for a run or an outdoor workout. And here’s a bonus: it’s water-resistant!

Recently, Fitbit regional lead for Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan Louis Lye was in Manila to formally unveil this amazing smartwatch. He was joined by trainer to the stars Arnold Aninion, who talked about his experience using the Fitbit Ionic.

Fitbit also announced that its first ever wireless headphones, the Fitbit Flyer, and the updated version of its Wi-Fi scale, the Fitbit Aria 2, will be available in Manila soon.

(Get this amazing smartwatch from the following Fitbit retailers: Digital Walker, Beyond the Box, iBook, Timeline, The Inboxstore, iLiberty, Globe Telecom, Proton, Mobile 1, Banana Telecom,  iCenter Cebu, Ambassador, Abenson, Lazada, Zalora and Shoplite stores.)

‘Best of travel’

Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) iconic ‘Singapore Girls’ flank SIA regional VP for Southeast Asia Lim Wee Kok, Civil Aeronautics Board director Carmelo Arcilla, Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo, Singaporean Ambassador Kok Li Peng and SIA GM Balagopal Kunduvara.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) and its regional wing SilkAir held their  fifth annual fair. The successful event was done with long-time partners like BPI, Ayala Malls, Globe Platinum, Singapore Tourism Board, Changi Airport Group and Samsung.

SIA general manager Balagopal Kunduvara said, “With a humble beginning in 2014, based on the idea of showcasing what Singapore Airlines has to offer to its customers, we have indeed come a long way with the event, which has grown in size year after year. This would not have been possible without the support of our patrons and our long-time partners, who share and support our mission of providing every passenger ‘A Great Way to Fly’.”

During the annual fair, all-in round-trip fares to Singapore were offered for as low as $150. Also made available were fares to Australia, Europe, South Africa and the US, which all came with free baggage allowance, delectable in-flight meals, a wide variety of in-flight entertainment and accruable KrisFlyer Miles.

Customers also enjoyed zero-percent installment plan for up to six months for BPI credit cardholders, 500 KrisFlyer bonus miles for bookings to select destinations, a SG$60 Changi Gift Card for every purchase of two tickets to select destinations, a complimentary SG$20 Changi Dollar Voucher for all itineraries beyond Singapore, and a chance to win 50,000 KrisFlyer miles!

The promotional fares are exclusive to KrisFlyer members, BPI Credit and Prepaid cardholders, Globe Platinum subscribers as well as Glorietta, TriNoma and Ayala Center Cebu shoppers.

The sale will also be available online at the SIA and SilkAir offices and accredited travel agents until Feb. 28. Travel period is until Dec. 31. Promotional fares are available for travel from Manila, Cebu, Davao and Kalibo.

Pizza fun with the Manzanos

Luis Manzano, Shakey’s president and CEO Vicente Gregorio and Edu Manzano.

Happy vibes filled the air at Shakey’s Paseo de Magallanes in Makati City when father-and-son celebrities Edu and Luis Manzano launched Shakey’s 2018 Meal Deal.

In the commercial, Edu tries to get lucky this year by wearing an entire polka-dot attire. On the other hand, Luis explains there’s a better and easier way to get lucky this New Year — by availing of Shakey’s hottest 2018 Meal Deal.

Shakey’s president and chief executive officer Vic Gregorio said, “We are excited to welcome our handsome, fun and engaging ambassadors, Edu and Luis. They truly embody our brand — they’re fun, they’re family, and these guys are definitely pizza-loving persons.”

The two exchanged playful banter during the interview giving a glimpse of how close the father and son are. They also played games where Edu’s team emerged as champion. Janeena Chan emceed the event.

Guests enjoyed the Shakey’s 2018 Meal Deal, which included two large Thin Crust pizza, two platters of pasta, 10 pieces of Chicken ‘n’ Mojos, 10 pieces mozzarella sticks, a platter of salad, and two pitchers of iced tea.

The 2018 Meal Deal, which comes with a free SuperCard, also features the restaurant’s newest pasta choices — Bacon and Cheese Fusilli.
