Bulacan fire leaves 2 dead

SANTA MARIA, Bulacan, Philippines — Two people were killed while two others were injured in a fire that destroyed the victims’ property in this town on Friday afternoon.

The fatalities – identified as William Cunille, 69, and his wife, Imelda, 61 – were believed trapped in their burning house located in Barangay Catmon.

The injured victims – Janille, 29, and Christine Lourie, 27, both surnamed Cunille – were rushed to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

Residents said the incident was not immediately reported to authorities.

Aside from the house of the Cunilles, the blaze destroyed two motor vehicles, according to Lt. Col. Mark Louie Sigua, Santa Maria police chief.
