Quezon City to hold New Year countdown at Quezon Memorial Circle

MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City government will host two events today to usher in the New Year.

As in previous years, a New Year countdown will be held at the Quezon Memorial Circle.

Performers include Kamikaze, Gloc 9, Itchyworms, Streetboys, Mayonnaise, Angeline Quinto, Lola Amour, Dilaw, Soapdish, Reese Lansangan and DJ Mike Lavet.

Gates will open at 1 p.m., with performances scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.

For the first time, a separate New Year countdown will be held at the Novaliches Park in District 5 starting at 6 p.m. today.

Quinto will headline the event, with performances from John Roa, Bayang Barrios and Ang Naliyagan, Ronnie Liang, Jennica Garcia, Pixie Ppop Band, Von Martino & NXTSTAGE, Jeremy Glinoga, Khimo Gumatay as well as MC and Lassy.

A fireworks display will be held at both events during the countdown to 2026.

The local government issued an advisory in anticipation of the possible traffic jams in both areas.

Personnel from the city’s Traffic and Transport Management Department, Department of Public Order and Safety, Task Force Disiplina and Quezon City Police District will be deployed to work with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority to assist motorists and event goers.

The Q City Bus will continue offering free rides to those who will join the countdown events.
