Polong, sons take oath of office
MANILA, Philippines — Davao City Rep. Paolo “Polong” Duterte and his sons, Omar and Rodrigo II, yesterday took their oaths as representatives of the first and second congressional districts of Davao City and city councilor, respectively.
The ceremony, held at The Royal Mandaya Hotel in the presence of members of the family, was administered by Court of Appeals Justice Jill Rose Jaugan-Lo.
Polong thanked his constituents for continued support for the family, especially ”my father, former president Rodrigo Duterte.”
Rodrigo II and Omar, both first-time public officials, pledged to promote transparency, accountability and good governance.
As they look forward to assuming their duties, the family members committed to address the needs of their constituents, particularly in education, health, infrastructure and peace and order.
The Dutertes won by huge margins over their opponents.
