Couple slain in Cotabato shooting

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — A public school teacher and her husband were killed in a gun attack in Banisilan, Cotabato yesterday.

Juanito Romaguero Jr. died at the scene. His wife Angelie died while being treated in a hospital, the Banisilan police said in a report to Cotabato police director Col. Harold Ramos.

The two were in a tricycle on their way to the Pantar Elementary School when motorcycle-riding men blocked their path and opened fire.

Romelito Flores, Cotabato schools superintendent, condemned the attack and called on the police to identify the perpetrators.
