Artemio Dumlao - The Philippine Star

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go handed out grocery packs to 1,500 typhoon victims in Laoag City as well as Pasuquin and Marcos towns in Ilocos Norte over the weekend.

Go encouraged residents who need medical assistance to visit the Malasakit Centers at the Governor Roque B. Ablan Sr. Memorial Hospital in Laoag and Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Batac.

To bring public health services closer to communities, Go, chairperson of the Senate committee on health, said he is pushing for the establishment of more Super Health Centers around the country.

He said the medical facilities would be established in Dingras, Bangui, Marcos, Nueva Era, Vintar and Paoay towns.

Go also vowed to push for legislations that prioritize the safety and wellbeing of Filipinos, especially during natural disasters.

He cited the need to pass Senate Bill Nos. 193 and 188 or the proposed Mandatory Evacuation Center Act and Department of Disaster Resilience Act, respectively.
