2 dead in Pagadian landslide

PAGADIAN CITY, Philippines — Two workers died and another was injured in a landslide in Barangay Balintawak in this city on Monday.

George Masayon and Julien Apamen were clearing a drainage canal at the back of the warehouse when a landslide occurred following heavy rain, Richard Fabria, city disaster risk reduction and management office chief, said.

Harris Pua, who was was immediately pulled out from the mud, remains confined in a hospital.

The Pagadian city government assured the families of Masayon and Apamen of burial aid and medical assistance for Pua.
