Go aids Balanga residents
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go visited Balanga City in Bataan where he led a relief operation for disadvantaged families on Thursday.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the senator emphasized the importance of unity, cooperation and dedicated service to improve the lives of the people.
“Sa ating pagtulong sa isa’t isa, nagbibigay tayo ng pag-asa at nagpapalakas sa ating komunidad,” he said.
“Ako, bilang inyong lingkod-bayan, ay nananawagan sa inyo na patuloy tayong magkaisa at magtulungan. Ipagpatuloy natin ang pagabot ng tulong at serbisyo sa ating mga kababayan,” he added.
The relief operation was mounted at the People’s Center, where Go and his team provided assistance to 1,008 indigents. Grocery packs, vitamins, face masks, shirts and snacks were distributed to the residents.
The senator also gave away bicycles, mobile phones, shoes, watches, and balls for basketball and volleyball to select beneficiaries.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development extended financial assistance.
Go encouraged residents with medical concerns to visit the Malasakit Centers at the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center and Mariveles Mental Wellness and General Hospital.
