COVID-19 positivity rate in NCR dips to 22%

MANILA, Philippines — The seven-day COVID positivity rate in the National Capital Region decreased on Saturday, the OCTA Research group said yesterday.

OCTA fellow Guido David said the testing positivity rate in Metro Manila dropped to 22 percent on May 27 from 25.7 percent on May 20.

David said COVID positivity rates in Batangas, Bulacan, Camarines Sur, Cavite, Isabela, Laguna, Rizal and Zambales also went down.

“However, positivity rates remained high in most of Luzon,” he said.

The Department of Health on Sunday recorded 1,855 new COVID cases nationwide.

Metro Manila posted the most number of COVID cases in the past two weeks with 8,377 followed by Calabarzon, 5,425; Central Luzon, 2,283; Western Visayas, 1,645, and Bicol region with 954.
