Bataan town cop chief shoots self

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — The chief of police of Pilar town in Bataan died after he allegedly shot himself accidentally early yesterday morning.

Maj. Rizaldy Rubio, 43, was declared dead on arrival at the Orani District Hospital due to a gunshot wound in the abdomen, according to a report received by Col. Romell Velasco, Bataan police director.

Rubio’s wife May reported the incident to authorities.

May said she heard a gunshot and found her husband bloodied outside their room in Barangay Tapulao, Orani at around 4 a.m.

Investigation is ongoing.
