MANILA, Philippines — Nine members of a group called the H-World United Nation Military Philippine Government-World International Police Commission were arrested for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in Roxas, Palawan on Wednesday.

Among those arrested was Michel Blanco, 43, a self-proclaimed leader of the group, which used to be headed by Sen. Robin Padilla’s late brother Royette.

Joel Magbanua, 42; Jerry Tulambing, 53; Wilfredo Tatic, 58; Juan Selose, 65; Rodrigo Tacani, 73; Noel Bergante, 54; Robert Reyes, 50, and Rogerio Sedan, 49, were also apprehended.

Philippine National Police (PNP) officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said the suspects were arrested during a raid at their headquarters in Barangay IV at around 3 p.m.

Police secured a search warrant from a court for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

A .45-caliber pistol and assorted bullets were reportedly recovered from the suspects.

“Their arrest signifies PNP’s serious stance in enforcing the law in line with the organization’s mandate to maintain peace and order and ensure safety and security of the public,” Danao said in a statement.

He reminded the public that the group is neither a legitimate organization nor affiliated with any law enforcement agency.
