3 Negros Occidental quarantine facilities now empty

Gilbert Bayoran - The Philippine Star

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Three quarantine facilities in Silay and Cadiz, including the Mambukal mountain resort in Murcia, Negros Occidental, are now empty of COVID-19 patients, according to provincial inter-agency task force officer Rayfrando Diaz.

Diaz said the district hospitals in Valladolid and Cadiz towns and the Valeriano Gatuslao Memorial Hospital in Himamaylan City, which were designated as COVID-19 hospitals, are now accepting non-COVID patients.

“We are happy with what the province has achieved,” he said.

The number of COVID patients at the EB Magalona healing center is now single-digit. Active cases in Negros Occidental dropped to 321 on Thursday compared to its peak of 4,400 in October, the provincial incident management team reported.
