8 held in Pangasinan for fake travel pass

MANILA, Philippines — Eight persons were arrested at a checkpoint in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan on Monday for presenting a fake travel authority supposedly signed by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Debold Sinas.

Ponciano Gamalo, 60; Ma. Loida Gamalo, 53; Ernesto Manangan, 53; Nora Manangan, 51; Rio Hernandez, 38; Andres Butil, 51; Rosanne Pasubillo, 42, and Rose Hernandez, 43, were apprehended at the exit of the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway in Barangay Anonas at around 10:40 a.m.

They face charges for falsification of public documents.

PNP deputy chief for operations Lt. Gen. Cesar Binag said only Maj. Gen. Alfred Corpus, head of the Directorate for Operations, is allowed to sign travel authority documents secured at Camp Crame.
