BI nabs 7 illegal Korean, Vietnamese workers

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has arrested five Koreans and two Vietnamese for allegedly working at a construction site in Pampanga without permit.
They were Park Sang Soon, 46; Yoo, Ji Young, 44; Nam, Juhyun, 40; Kim, Cha Sig, 48; Cheoi, Young Chun, 44, and Vietnamese Vuong, Sy Hung 31, and Vuong, Dac Hai, 32.
In a report to Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, BI intelligence division chief Fortunato Manahan said the foreigners were caught working at Clark Sharp Hills in Angeles City.
“We have validated reports that the foreigners were employed by the company without working visas,” Manahan said.
The foreigners are being held at the BI detention facility at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig pending their deportation.
