3 LTFRB-Northern Mindanao ‘fixers’ axed
MANILA, Philippines — Three employees of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) office in Northern Mindanao have been terminated over alleged fixing in franchise applications.
Rustom Tolentino, Dahlee Joy Saud and Jaim Dimakuta were sacked under an order signed by LTFRB regional officer-in-charge Renwick Rutaquio.
Tolentino was a driver of the LTFRB regional office; Saud, a frontline assistant, and Dimakuta, an inspector.
The LTFRB office said it received complaints that Tolentino and Saud demanded between P50,000 to P60,000 in exchange for the fast processing of applications for franchise.
Tolentino supposedly received the applications and directed the applicants to Saud who requested for “additional processing payment.”
Dimakuta was accused of demanding P50,000 from a taxi operator.
The LTFRB said Dimakuta admitted to the anomaly when confronted by officials.
“The LTFRB remains committed to the Duterte administration’s drive against corruption... We shall not allow an erring few to derail us from the pursuit of good governance in our offices nationwide,” LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra said.
