New Calabarzon cop chief assumes post

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — The new director of the Calabarzon police assumed his post yesterday.

Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. replaced Brig. Gen. Edward Carranza, who was designated director of the logistics support service at Camp Crame.

Danao, a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1991, served as police chief of Davao City when President Duterte was mayor.

He vowed to implement an internal cleansing program dubbed “Oplan LITIS” (Linisin Tiwalag at Scalawag na hanay sa Kapulisan) at the regional police office.

“Hindi lang paglilinis ng kriminal ang ating gagawin, isama na din nating ang paglilinis ng basura sa ating mismong kabahayan,” Danao said.
