P90 million shabu, hidden in car mufflers, seized at NAIA

Rudy Santos - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs has seized 13.01 kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu hidden in car mufflers sent from California, an official said yesterday.

The shabu, with a street value of P90 million, arrived at the DHL warehouse at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Dec. 23, 2018. The 26 parcels declared as “muffler parts” were consigned to Peter Soriquez of BF Resort Village, Las Piñas.

Gerald Javier of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said they believe the Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel is involved in the shipments.
