CAMP FLORENDO, La Union, Philippines — At least 15 Taiwanese and Chinese nationals as well as seven Filipinos were arrested in a raid on a warehouse in Barangay Medina, Dingras, Ilocos Sur yesterday for alleged telecommunications fraud.

Agents of the police Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) recovered various types of gadgets and three slot machines.

The ACG said it conducted the raid after receiving complaints from the Chinese government.

The suspects reportedly extort money from their victims in exchange for the dropping of fake charges against them.

The suspects had reportedly duped around 100 Chinese in mainland China, Australia, the United Kingdom and United States per day. – Emmanuel Tupas
