Lanao Norte village chiefs surrender loose guns

ILIGAN CITY, Philippines — Barangay officials in Lanao del Norte have turned over 52 high-powered firearms to the military.

The turnover ceremony was held at the 5th Mechanized Infantry Battalion headquarters on Friday.

A military report said 37 barangay captains turned over the guns through the initiative of the mayor of Sultan Naga Dimaporo town, Ulwan Dimaporo, in support of President Duterte’s campaign against loose firearms.
