Sara was elected as Davao City’s mayor by a landslide of 576,230 votes. Her rivals Teodoro Mantilla and Kilat Tocante obtained just 2,012 and 591 votes, respectively. She was also the mayor from 2010 to 2013.

On the other hand, sole candidate Paolo registered 522, 119 votes in the vice mayoral race. Both ran under the political party Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod, founded by their father.

Duterte siblings’ mother Elizabeth Zimmerman was present during their oath-taking.

Paolo took to Facebook to thank Carpio and Ferarris as well as his and his sister’s supporters.

Meanwhile, asked if she is willing to hold a position offered by her father, Sara declined saying she is already handling her duties and responsibilities in the city.

"Parang hndi ko na po kaya kasi nag-aalaga pa ako ng mga anak ko tapos may trabaho pa ako sa City Hall and ano mang special na requests nila for me na gagawin ko so hindi na siguro, another job or position or role," Sara said in an ambush interview recorded.
