Bacoor receives seal of good governance award

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The city of Bacoor in Cavite has been awarded the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for showing exemplary performance in the delivery of services to its constituents.

To qualify for the SGLG, which was introduced by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), local government units are required to comply with the standards set in three core assessment areas – good financial housekeeping, disaster preparedness and social protection – and at least one from the essential components – business friendliness and competitiveness, peace and order or environmental management.

As an SGLG awardee, the city is eligible to avail itself of the incentive packages and programs offered by the national government.

The award is proof of the city government’s efforts to improve its governance and promote transparency and accountability, social and economic development, and environmental management.
