Noy to Zambo City cops: Solve judge’s slay quickly

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines  â€“ President Aquino has ordered the city police to solve quickly the killing of Judge Reynerio Estacio who was gunned down here last week. 

Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the President issued the order to the city police director and other government security agencies, telling them to give justice to Estacio and other crime victims.

“There was this directive from the President for the city police director and personnel to respond to the killing of Judge Estacio,” Salazar told journalists during a press briefing at the city hall yesterday.

Estacio was shot dead by two unidentified assailants as he and his wife were in a sport uti-lity vehicle in Barangay Tugbungan.

Police said the killing was work-related, noting the high-profile cases the victim was handling.

City police director Senior Superintendent Angelito Casimiro said they have sketches of the assailants.

Casimiro said he would not release the sketches yet . He said they were working with the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency in the manhunt. 

The killing of Estacio has alarmed the business community and local residents. 

First district Rep. Lilia Nuño and her husband Abdurahman, former city councilor, have expressed willingness to provide a reward for the arrest of the killers.
